Constructora MECO will be in charge of the rehabilitation of 22.681 kilometers of road and also of building five vehicular bridges: La Villa River; Quebrada Llana; Quebrada de Piedra, Quebrada India and Quebrada Mesa.
During a work visit, on January 11th, Mr. Carlos Cerdas, President of Constructora Meco received the groundbreaking order from the President of the Republic of Panamá.
This work will benefit more than 10,000 people in the provinces of Herrera and Los Santos. With this work, the Government hopes to strengthen the productive sector of the region specifically in the growing and marketing of agricultural products, among other items in the different communities.
Constructora Meco must place select material and base layer, a layer of hot asphalt concrete, underground drainage, signage for traffic control, and scarification and formation of roadway. Meco is also in charge of forming gutters or drainage ditches; designing and installing four rain watersheds, building sidewalks, relocating the electrical and water system. Meco will also lay reinforced concrete pipes, do unclassified excavation to cut and fill, make V-shaped paved ditches and concrete channels.
