In July 2020, the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, inaugurated the first complete work of the roads known as 4G. This project connects the towns of Girardot, Puerto Salgar and Honda, and the Alto Magdalena Concession group, formed by Constructora Meco, Mario Huertas, Pavimentos Colombia and Ingeniería de Vías, was awarded this project. The Alto Magdalena concession group received an investment of US$ 500,000,000.00 million dollars, which translated into the construction of 190 kilometers of roads and 74 bridges.
