CARTAGENA – BARRANQUILLA BELTWAY AND CIRCUNVALAR DE LA PROSPERIDAD PROJECT

The Circunvalar de la Prosperidad Beltway project entailed the construction of 36.7 km of two-lane roads including three pedestrian bridges, four overpass intersections and one ground-level intersection in Barranquilla. This project would demarcate the urban limits of the city and would speed up the mobilization and access to the port area over the Magdalena River. On the other hand, the project involved the construction and rehabilitation of the Cartagena-Barranquilla Beltway, a 19.5 km long two-lane road including four pedestrian bridges and two overpass bridges, as well as the rehabilitation of six bridges. Finally, it considered the construction of a 5.39 km long viaduct made up of 120 spans, a deck width of 11.70 meters and a slab thickness of 20 cm.
