Proyecto : CARTAGENA – BARRANQUILLA HIGHWAY AND CIRCUNVALAR DE LA PROSPERIDAD CONCESSION

Awarded in 2014, the 4G project on the Cartagena-Barranquilla highway has been a challenge for the Coastal Concession group, of which Constructora Meco is part of along with MHC, Colpatria and Castro Tcherassi Construction. The project’s complexity was evidenced in El Gran Manglar Viaduct over La Virgen swamp in Cartagena, whose 5.4 kilometers make it the longest viaduct in Colombia. Other sections of the concession included the improvement of the Puerto Colombia – Barranquilla two-lane road; the first 16.5 km of the two-lane Circunvalar de la Prosperidad Highway between Malambo and Galapa; the second section of the second Circunvalar beltway; and the section between the Crespo ring road and La Boquilla in Cartagena.
