Repairing the 192,000 square meters of the main runway was part of the work that Meco carried out at this international airport. A hot mix asphalt was made under the Marshall method; this is a standard that was used on the perimeter, taxiway and main runway. To make this project a reality, Meco installed a plant at the airport and imported more than a hundred specialized heavy equipment to El Salvador, including crushers and asphalt mixers.
