One of the objectives of this project was to improve the connection between the interior of the country and the province of Panama Oeste. With 11 km long, it included the expansion of the Pan-American highway and eight additional lanes, from the entrance of Panama Pacífico in Cocolí to Arraiján. Furthermore, it included the expansion of the Vía Centenario by 3 km, the construction of six road intersections, four box-type road structures, 13 bridges, one pedestrian walkway, eight cross-drainage structures, 20 cross-drainage works with concrete pipes, the relocation of 16 km of oil pipeline, 5 km of aqueducts, 10 km of telecommunications lines and 16 km of power lines. This project connects directly with the project of the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal and with the third line of the Panama City metro.
